Local author, Pastor Allen A. Blyden in collaboration with the Department of Culture will be launching his book, “Dear God, Deliver Us From Evil” on Friday, October 4, Village Cay Conference Room at 5:00 p.m.

Pastor Bylden said the title of the book comes from the ‘Lord’s Prayer’ which is a famous prayer in the Christian Bible in Mathew chapter 6 verse 13.

This publication is Pastor Blyden’s second book and he hopes to enlighten many on the evils that seem to permeate every corner of the globe, even here in the Virgin Islands.

He said, “This book stems from a conversation that a colleague and I had when we talked about how there is so much “evil”... whether it be in the form of a person or things that people do.”

He added that the book can be understood by persons who do not have a religious background because most persons believe that there is good and evil and that is the main focus of the book.

Six years ago Pastor Blyden wrote and published his first book, “Tried, Tested and Tempted”, which was in part, a testimony of his life and the struggles he went through growing up.  Pastor Blyden has a third book that he is presently working on, which he hopes will be published by the first quarter of 2020.  The book will be titled, “Virgin Islands, The Way We Used to Be”, and takes the reader on a journey of the Virgin islands and how it used to be 50 plus years ago when he was a child growing up.

Persons wishing to buy any of his books can contact him directly at 343-2978 or WhatsApp, 542-924.

The Department of Culture is committed to helping local authors publicise their book and is encouraging authors to contact them at 468-4949.
