The proposing St. George’s Secondary School are the winners against the opposing Cedar International School in the first of the 2025 Inter-Secondary School Preliminary debates. In the preliminary round held earlier today, the teams debated the moot: “Agricultural self-sufficiency is an unrealistic expectation for the Virgin Islands.” Meanwhile, the opposing Virgin Islands School of Technical Studies (VISTS) emerged winners in the second debate, over the proposing Claudia Creque Educational Centre (CCEC) in their debate on the moot: “Students with special educational needs should be required to take the same standardised tests as their peers.”
The Semi-final round of the debate series is set to take place on Wednesday February 26 and can be viewed on the Government’s Facebook page at BVIGovernment.
