Students from seven schools in the Territory have begun a two-day tournament to test their critical thinking and strategic skills in the Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs and Sports’ 2024 Chess Tournament.

The qualifying round took place today with every team getting the opportunity to play each other. The teams with the most points at the end of the day will advance to the semi-finals and finals that take place at the Multipurpose Sports Complex tomorrow at 9a.m, followed by the prize giving and closing ceremony where the winners will be announced.

The Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs, and Sports remains committed supporting S.T.E.A.M activities as it continues to reimagine education in the Virgin Islands.
