Message from the Honourable Kye Rymer

After the Passing of Tropical Storm Karen

25 September, 2019

Good morning,

Tropical Storm Karen is behind us and I thank God that we are all safe.

I thank my Acting Permanent Secretary Mr. Jeremy Hodge in the Ministry of Transportation, Works and Utilities and the staff for their hard work and dedication. I wish to especially thank the teams at the Public Works Department. I know that the crew has been out since 3:00a.m. assessing the roadways and clearing debris. If there is one thing I can say about my team at the Ministry and Departments, they know that the public depend on us to make things as normal as possible for them. That is why I am asking motorists to drive with extreme caution as the team continue to do their duties out on the road. Motorists, be mindful the roads are very saturated at this time so we want to ensure that everyone remains safe. Safety is our number one priority. Now is the time to exercise patience and drive with caution to ensure the protection of yourselves, your passengers and the crews who are working hard for you.

My team and me will meet to discuss our successes and opportunities as we continue on in this active Atlantic Hurricane Season.

Let us all stay ready!
