The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force will add four new law enforcement vehicles to their fleet as the Government of the Virgin Islands continues to invest in law enforcement.

Premier and Minister of Finance Honourable Andrew A. Fahie said the vehicles have just arrived to the Territory and that he is pleased that the Government was able to make this necessary purchase to further enhance the capabilities of the force to carry out its law enforcement responsibilities. 

Premier said, “The arrival of the four new vehicles is timely, as the Territory continues to prepare for the reopening of the borders in the Virgin Islands on December 1.”  

The Minister of Finance said, “As a Government, we will continue to ensure that financial allocations are made to provide the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF), HM Customs and Immigration Department with the resources needed to perform in managing crime in our Territory.” 

Premier Fahie also commended Border Protection and Law Enforcement agencies for their efforts to ensure the safety of the Territory’s borders and safety on land.

“I thank the men and women of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force, Her Majesty Customs and the Immigration Department for all the work they do to keep us all safe,” he added. 

The Government of the Virgin Islands will continue to ensure that financing is allocated in the annual budget for Her Majesty’s Customs, Royal Virgin Islands Police Force, Immigration Department, Virgin Islands Fire and Rescue Service Department, and Her Majesty’s Prison to ensure the safety and reduction of crime in the Virgin Islands.
