Press Release
Officers from the Procurement Unit in the Ministry of Finance along with officers from the Department of Disaster Management hosted 14 representatives from local and international firms at a pre-bidding conference for the construction of the new National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) on Friday, May 3.
The attendees heard a presentation about the scope of the project and the requirements of the tender process, including the specific criteria that will be used to evaluate all bids. Attendees were also given an opportunity to ask questions and have their concerns clarified ahead of submitting their bids. They then toured the proposed site for the NEOC on Wailing Road.
Director of Projects with the Ministry of Finance, Dr. Drexel Glasgow said 18 potential bidders have expressed their interest in building the new NEOC by requesting the bidding documents. He said that he is pleased with the response to the project, which will be a flagship of the Territory’s resilience.
“We see this as a showcase facility that will demonstrate how resiliency can be achieved in critical facilities such as the NEOC. The specifications and standards used for this project will also be utilised for other government facilities being rehabilitated through the CDB loan,” Dr. Glasgow said.
Potential bidders are urged to reach out to Procurement Coordinator, Mrs. Ishma Rhymer, at the Procurement Unit at (284) 468-4243 with any questions by Friday, May 10. Sealed bids are due by May 21.
