This year’s observation of Senior Citizen’s Month drew to a close with a trip to Virgin Gorda and an island tour for the seniors. Over one hundred seniors from Tortola, Anegada, Jost Van Dyke and Virgin Gorda participated in the day’s activities. The activities included a morning tour of Virgin Gorda and a quick stop at Hog Haven for refreshments. The seniors also visited the Virgin Gorda destination sign for pictures and sightseeing. The tour day’s activities finished with lunch at Island Pot Restaurant, after which, there were games and giveaways for the seniors.

This year’s observation of Senior Citizen’s Month saw an array of activities planned by the Social Development Department for seniors in the Virgin Islands under the theme ‘Aging Unbound’. It started with the Church Service and Declaration Ceremony, then the Seniors Hike; followed by the Sip and Paint. Between these events were intergenerational days for the East End/Long Look Senior Programme and the Carrot Bay Senior Programme and the Adina Donovan Open House.
