The Premier’s Office will host a series of town hall meetings to discuss the 48 Recommendations of the Commission of Inquiry (COI) and their profound impact on the governance of the Virgin Islands.

Premier and Minister of Finance Honourable Dr. Natalio D. Wheatley stated that the upcoming town hall meetings with residents are a vital part of his government’s commitment to transparent governance and meaningful public participation.

The Premier said, “The COI reforms are designed to strengthen the foundation of our government, enhance accountability, and empower our people. We encourage all residents to participate actively in shaping the future of the Virgin Islands, as your feedback is critical to our collective success.”

The Governance Reform Education & Awareness Transformation of the Virgin Islands (GREAT VI) town hall meetings and discussion forums will take place on the following dates:

  • Anegada: Sunday, February 2, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Emile Dunlop Community Centre
  • Tortola & Jost Van Dyke: Tuesday, February 4, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Treasure Isle Hotel
    (Ferry and taxi transportation will be provided for Jost Van Dykes residents)
  • Virgin Gorda: Thursday, February 6, from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the Community Centre, The Valley (Taxi transportation will be available for North Sound residents)

Government ministers will present a detailed overview of the COI governance reforms during these sessions and explain their effects on public sector operations, transparency, and long-term accountability.

The meetings will offer an opportunity for the public to engage directly with ministers, ask questions, and gain clarity on the reforms. Senior public officers will also be present to record concerns and provide additional information as needed.

Following the presentations, an open discussion forum will allow residents to share their concerns and offer perspectives on other issues impacting the community. All feedback will be documented and acted upon appropriately.
