The public is advised that the lower part of Fort Hill (from Qwomar Trading up to the intersection with Bau Bau Gene Hill) will be closed to ongoing traffic on Tuesday, January 5 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.  This action is required to facilitate the removal of a boulder which is hindering the construction of the retaining wall.  Residents living within the road closure designated area will have access to their properties as well as business patrons. Site personnel will be on location to direct traffic.

During this time motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes to access Road Town, Baugher’s Bay, Fort Hill and Belle Vue.

  • Traffic descending down Fort Hill will be redirected to Bau Bau Gene Hill into Baugher’s Bay although motorists are encouraged to use Johnson’s Ghut to gain access to and from Road Town.
  • Traffic requiring access to Fort Hill will also use Bau Bau Gene Hill which will accommodate two-way traffic from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Motorists are asked to drive with extreme caution and to follow the directions of the traffic wardens in these areas.
