The public is notified that effective immediately, the acceptance of new applications for work permit exemptions by Minister's discretion is temporarily suspended.

The Ministry of Financial Services, Labour and Trade will however continue to accept renewal applications for work permit exemptions by Minister’s discretion.

The Ministry is currently developing guidelines to establish clear criteria for eligibility under the Minister's Discretion category to ensure a fair and transparent process for all applicants.

Applications for work permit exemptions can still be submitted in the following categories:

• By Marriage - Persons who are married to a BVIslander or Belonger and living with their spouse in the Territory.
• By Education - Persons who would have attended significant schooling in the Territory.
