Director of Youth Affairs and Sports, Mrs. Brenda Lettsome-Tye is encouraging early-career conservationists between the ages of 18 to 29 years to participate in a two-week workshop
Mrs. Lettsome-Tye said the workshop is being hosted through the Conservation Leadership Programme (CLP) to increase the capacity of early-career conservationists from the Caribbean Islands to obtain funding from small grants donors.
During the two-week workshop, 16 participants will be guided through the entire project development and proposal writing process and will acquire in-depth information on a range of proposal-related topics.
Eligibility:
• The workshop is designed for early-career conservationists with limited fundraising experience. Accepting applications from nationals of all Caribbean islands.
• The workshop will be taught in English. Applicants must have a good understanding of written and spoken English.
• Applicants must have no more than 5 years of professional paid conservation experience.
• Applicants should be planning to submit an application to the Conservation Leadership Programme or other donors as soon as workshop is completed.
• Accepted applicants must commit to the training days of March 7 to11 if in-person, or March 7 to18 if online.
• If the training is delivered in person you must have a valid, in-date passport and be able to travel to Jamaica during the training period.
• If the training is delivered online you must have a reliable internet connection to participate. CLP can support with internet costs if required.
