The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) observed World Telecommunications and Information Society Day with a focus on hurricane preparedness.
Heads of local Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO) met with His Excellency Governor Augustus Jaspert on July 9 to address ongoing preparations for this hurricane season.
Residents of Anegada have been assured that more assistance will be provided in the planning and preparation for future disasters and recovery efforts following these events.

Officers from a cross-section of the Government are now trained to meet the unique communication needs of communities in the Territory before, during and after an emergency.
The Government has announced today that Ms. Elise Donovan will become the interim Director of the BVI London Office (BVILO) from next month, following the departure of Mr. Benito Wheatley who has now completed his tenure as Director of the BVI London Office
Acting Head of Family Children and Protective Services, Ms. Laurel Freeman is calling on parents to take precautions to safeguard their children as the Territory prepares for residual impact of hurricane Beryl.
Plans are being put in place to bring together humanitarian, military support and diplomatic work to the Territory under a joint unit coordinated by the UK Foreign Office.
