Food handlers who are desirous of participating in this year’s Farmer’s Week activities are reminded that they require a valid food handler’s permit to be able to do so.
The Government of the Virgin Islands continues to deliver on its commitments to improve the Territory’s infrastructure and is inviting tenders for the Rehabilitation of Roads and Slope Stabilisation works at Horsepath, Tortola.
According to the Director of Communications Mrs. Arliene T. Penn, the proposed works include the construction of two retaining structures which are reinforced concrete counterfort walls along with rehabilitation of the road surface.
A 12 week fitness challenge has been issued to residents of the Virgin Islands to increase physical activity thereby ensuring a healthier Virgin Islands.

Citizens and residents, businesses, public officers, and visitors will soon have access to Government’s information, news and services from one central location when the newly transformed Web site www.bvi.gov.vg. is officially launched tomorrow, January 20.
Work is underway with the renovation of Her Majesty’s old prison building on Upper Main Street as government continues with efforts to improve and enhance the city of Road Town.

His Excellency the Governor, after considering the advice of the Judicial and Legal Services Commission, has approved the contractual appointment of Mr. Baba Aziz to the post of Attorney General, Attorney General's Chambers effective February 10, for a period of three years.
Students of the Enid Scatliffe Pre-Primary School can now enjoy a new educational engaging playground, which was officially commissioned last week.
Speaking on behalf of the Minister for Education and Culture, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education and Culture, Dr. Marcia Potter congratulated Principal Welsh for leading the charge in organising the construction of the new playground and other outdoor facilities.

Government Ministries, National Commissions and other interested stakeholders will receive technical advice and assistance in establishing National Memory of the World committees and registers next week.
United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) Library Consultant/Researcher Elizabeth F. Watson will pay a three day visit to the Territory next week from the 13-16 to provide consultancy in this area.
