I am thrilled that the decision was taken to begin our series of Agriculture Exhibitions on Virgin Gorda. It is yet another opportunity for Virgin Gorda to lead, as you have from time to time over the years, in various areas such as tourism, music and bee keeping (apiculture), to name a few.
Junior Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, Dr. Karl Dawson has extended congratulations to the principal, staff and students of the Elmore Stoutt High School for executing a successful agricultural expo on its school grounds.
I greet the Minister of Education and Culture, Principal, other leaders and staff of the Elmore Stoutt High School, and most notably, the staff and students involved in the agriculture programme and largely responsible for today’s exhibition. I was very much looking forward to this event, but I am currently off-island attending to a personal matter.
The Department of Agriculture and Fisheries is notifying past and present beekeepers of the creation of a national directory of beekeepers to document the number of established hives.
