The Government of the Virgin Islands is focused on introducing different pieces of legislation to further strengthen the education sectors of the economy. This information was shared by His Excellency the Governor Mr. John J. Rankin, CMG during the Speech from the Throne on January 18 under the theme: Positioning the Virgin Islands through Legislation to continue improving the standard of living of our people.

13 teachers have received training to deliver distance education and use information and communications technology (ICT) in education during and beyond the COVID-19 crisis.
The public is invited to a virtual stakeholder meeting on Wednesday, January 19 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. hosted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth Affairs, Fisheries and Agriculture.
The purpose of the meeting is to update all stakeholders on the redevelopment of the campus with priority on the immediate plans for the relocation of the senior school from the CTL Building to the main campus. Representatives from the Recovery and Development Agency will be in attendance to present an overview of the proposed site layout.
Parents and guardians of students in the public school system are being informed that all public schools will reopen for the Lent term utilising online. Classes will begin on Thursday, January 6. Principals and teachers will begin on Tuesday, January 4. As a result of the current status of COVID cases in the Territory, the Ministry of Education is being cautious as they monitor the situation.
The public is advised that the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth Affairs, Fisheries and Agriculture will be providing remote services only from Wednesday, December 29 to Friday, December 31. Physical operations will resume on Tuesday, January 4, 2022.

The public is advised that the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth Affairs, Fisheries and Agriculture, located on second and third floors of the E. A. Creque Building in Road Town, will be providing remote services only until Friday, December 24.
