I once again take the opportunity to welcome all to the start of the 2017/2018 academic year and to address educators, parents, students and the general community.

Students in Grades 7 and 8 in public schools throughout the Territory are expected to benefit from the use of digital textbooks in the classroom.

Several schools throughout the Territory have been benefitting from contributions towards their rebuilding programme.

Primary school students throughout the Territory will have a full day of lessons when the new school year begins on November 6.

Parents and guardians of children from ages 3 to 5 years old are notified that their children can access the daily learning sessions and meals between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

The Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines has offered to accept senior students from the BVI Secondary Schools to continue their education in that country.

Good day Virgin Islanders and residents. Based on consultation with Cabinet, the state of emergency has been relaxed with the exception of the curfew which remains in effect from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. daily.
