Loan Agreement To Enhance The Territory’s Electrical Infrastructure

Phase V includes the extension and expansion of the BVIEC's facility by adding two new WARTSILA generators, a new central control room, and transmission cables between Pockwood Pond and Long Bush.  This phase commenced on March 23 with the turning of the soil at the Pockwood Pond Power Station.

The BVI Electricity Corporation has announced that four companies have submitted bids to install approximately two megawatts of solar photovoltaic on various government buildings and statutory bodies in the Territory.

The companies will produce electricity via solar energy for the next twenty five years.

Registered And Licensed Electricians To Close Off Inspections For 2014

The Electrical Inspection Unit is advising all registered and licensed Electricians that the close off dates for carrying out electrical/mechanical inspections for the remainder of the year is Wednesday, December 17 on the sister islands and Friday, December 19 on Tortola.

Inspections will resume on Monday, January 5, 2015.
