Ladies and gentlemen, this weekend we will come together to mark one of our most important historical and cultural events, the Annual BVI Emancipation Festival celebrations, which will continue across this Territory over the next few days.
The Department of Trade, Investment Promotion and Consumer Affairs is informing booth owners at the festival grounds that inspections will take place on Friday, July 22
The public is invited to support the 12th Annual Great Festival Sloop Shootout and Heritage Regatta set for August 1 and 4 as part of the Emancipation Festival celebrations.
The challenge has been issued and Premier and Minister for Tourism, Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith, OBE is preparing to defend his championship title in the 12th Annual Great Festival Sloop Shootout and Heritage Regatta set for August 1 to 4 as part of the Emancipation Festival celebrations.

The Ministry of Communications and Works is informing the public that the west bound lane of the Walter Francis highway from the traffic light situated at Station Avenue to the Road Town Round-a-bout will be closed nightly at 7:00 p.m. from Friday, July 24 to Monday, August 3.

The Department of Culture and Virgin Islands Festivals and Fairs Committee are informing the public that the deadline for the submission of entries for the Festival 2015 theme and slogan competition has been extended until Friday, April 17.
Persons are reminded that the theme must focus on the historical and/or cultural heritage of the Virgin Islands and the slogan must include the words “Festival 2015.”
The Environmental Health Division is reminding all food vendors and businesses participating in the Virgin Gorda Easter Festival to register with the Division’s Virgin Gorda Officer no later than Friday March 27.
