The Government of the Virgin Islands has executed several measures, plans and decisions to improve the Territory’s water supply.

The Leader of the Opposition and Representative of the Third Electoral District to ask the Honourable Minister for Communications and Works the following questions:

Madam Speaker, the National Sewerage Programme is another major undertaking of this Government, through the Ministry of Communications and Works.

Madam Speaker, The Ministry of Communications and Works has embarked on an aggressive program to provide the residents of the Virgin Islands with a more reliable, sustainable and consistent potable water supply. We started with first assessing all existing water assets and resources, to develop a comprehensive action plan to achieve this goal. Currently there are a number of projects geared towards improving the potable water infrastructure in the Territory.

Motorists and residents are notified that work will resume on the Road Town Sewerage System on Thursday, June 16.

The residents of East End/Long Look and Greenland are notified that work will resume on the sewerage system on Wednesday June 8.

Residents of the Valley, Virgin Gorda, are now receiving full water service from the temporary portable water plant at Handsome Bay.
