Director of Waste Management, Mr. Marcus Solomon, reported that efforts are underway to remove derelict vehicles from the Virgin Islands and identify a long-term storage site. Proposals are being reviewed to process and export up to 600 derelict vehicles. While the tender process concludes, the current site is being cleaned. The public is encouraged to report derelict vehicles via phone, email, or the BVIGovReportit app. The department is committed to finding a sustainable solution and will consult the community once viable options are identified.

He clarified that public fund placements, including a recent government deposit in the bank, follow established financial protocols without ministerial involvement. The International Tax Authority (ITA) advises Registered Agents of the finalized transition dates for Economic Substance (ES) filings. The Beneficial Ownership Secure Search system (BOSSs) will no longer be available after December 26, 2025, and the Virtual Integrated Registry Regulatory General Information Network (VIRRGIN) will open for ES filings on January 2, 2026. Registered Agents must ensure all outstanding filings, reopened declarations, and Section 11 Notice requests are submitted before these deadlines.
