VI Government To Create A National Tourism Policy

Key initiatives include sustainable practices, empowering local communities, and enhancing visitor experiences. Over 330 stakeholders participated, and the summit marked a commitment to shaping a sustainable, inclusive tourism sector for the Virgin Islands.

Lucas Findlay is the 2025 Inter-Primary School Spelling Bee Champion
Lucas Anton Findlay of Joyce Samuel Primary School emerged as the winner of the 2025 Inter-Primary School National Spelling Bee, with Dominique Ashley of Valley Day Primary placing second and Layla Saniana of Ebenezer Primary coming in third. Competing individually, students studied 3,000 words in preparation for the event, which began on May 28 and concluded with the finals on June 4 after twelve schools advanced. Deputy Chief Education Officer Mrs. Heida Selwood emphasized the competition’s role in strengthening students’ spelling and literacy skills while promoting friendly academic rivalry across the Territory. The Ministry of Education continues to support such initiatives to enhance educational development throughout the Virgin Islands.
