U.S. Six-Month Passport Validity Requirement for Travel
The Civil Registry and Passport Office advises the public that the United States Virgin Islands requires passports to be valid for at least six months for entry to U.S. territories and mainland. Citizens are encouraged to renew their passports up to nine months before expiration to avoid travel disruptions. Travellers should verify passport validity ahead of trips. Seniors Shine at the 2025 Adult Spell-Off
Mrs. Sheila Brathwaite claimed first place in the 2025 Adult Spell-Off: Seniors Edition, hosted by the Social Development Department in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Social Development and VI Adult Spell Off. Mrs. Sylvia George and Miss Carren Mactavious secured second and third places, respectively, in the spirited competition that highlighted active ageing and lifelong learning. Regional Coastguard Crews Boost Skills With UK’s Royal National Lifeboat Institution
Rescuers from Virgin Islands Search and Rescue (VISAR) participated in a two-week training program with maritime protection crews from Anguilla, Bermuda, the Cayman Islands, Montserrat, and Turks and Caicos Islands. The training, held from January 13-24, focused on enhancing search-and-rescue capabilities and included theory, tabletop, and practical elements. Delivered by RNLI trainers in partnership with HM Coastguard, the program aimed to train participants to teach colleagues in their territories. The Governor of the Virgin Islands, Mr. Daniel Pruce, observed a simulated rescue operation and praised the course for ensuring international standards in rescue operations. The RNLI's international efforts help organizations improve lifesaving capabilities globally.
