The Customs Department, one of the revenue collecting departments of the Government of the Virgin Islands, is responsible for collecting and accounting for a substantive amount of the Territory’s annual revenue.  The department is also engaged in the protection of society by the prevention and interdiction of restricted and prohibited goods from entering the Virgin Islands.

The Customs Department is also actively engaged in the facilitation of legitimate trade.  In addition to its primary functions, Customs also performs agency duties for other departments and statutory bodies such as the Department of Agriculture, Civil Aviation, Ports Authority and Postal Service.
