Good day everyone.
You would have heard the Premier and Minister of Finance Honourable Andrew A. Fahie announced that Cabinet decided that beaches will reopen from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. effective May 10, 2020 for the purposes of exercise and therapy.
The public is notified that beaches will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. daily, commencing on Sunday, May 10. This announcement was made by Premier and Minister of Finance Honourable Andrew A. Fahie on the COVID-19 Update livestream on Friday, May 8.

Mr. Speaker, the condition and functioning of the roads, bridges, and coastal revetments/rock armour and drainage infrastructure is directly linked to the quality of life of our citizens.
The Cabinet of the Virgin Islands has approved the Green Paper on the Proposed Environmental Management and Climate Adaptation Bill and is now available to the public for perusal.

Officials from the United Kingdom’s National Oceanography Centre have arrived in the Territory to deliver vital training in marine survey mapping to various departments of Government and Non-Governmental Organisations.

Acting Chief Conservation and Fisheries Officer in the Ministry of Natural Resources and Labour, Mr. Kelvin Penn has confirmed that following the results of a completed study the Cane Garden Bay beach is re-opened for swimming and related recreational activities.

The Cane Garden Bay Revetment Project was launched with a literal splash as a symbolic “first” rock was dropped into the ocean at the site of the proposed revetment.

The Conservation and Fisheries Department is inviting the community to observe the 2016 International Coastal Cleanup Day by volunteering to clean and beautify Virgin Islands coastlines on Saturday, September 17.
The public is encouraged to keep the beaches and coastlines of the Virgin Islands clean by supporting the 2016 International Coastal Clean-Up activities, sponsored this year by the Conservation and Fisheries Department and the British Virgin Islands Tourist Board.
