Parents, school vendors and the community are encouraged to be fully engaged in the Healthy Lifestyle School Intervention Programme to ensure its success.
Training began for fifty apprentices on Monday, September 14, in the Ministry of Education and Culture’s Apprenticeship Programme. The second cohort of apprentices will be trained in a week-long workshop at the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports under the theme: “Developing Value for Job Opportunity.”

A team of persons from the Ministries of Education and Culture and Health and Social Development will be conducting baseline data collection in primary schools from September 14 as Government prepares to launch the Healthy Lifestyle School Intervention programme.
Thirty-one students have been inducted into the Technical/Vocational Education and Training Apprenticeship (TVET) Programme, a joint programme of the Ministry of Education and Culture and H. Lavity Stoutt Community College. The induction was held during an opening ceremony on Tuesday, September 8.
The first cohort of participants in the Ministry of Education and Culture’s (MEC) Apprenticeship Programme is moving into its sixth month and additional training for new and old cohorts will be held through a workshop from September 14 to 18.
The Ministry of Education and Culture is inviting all instructors and students of the Alternative Secondary Education Programme to a general meeting at the Elmore Stoutt High School on Thursday, September 10 at 5:00 p.m. in Lecture Room #2.
Young persons in the Virgin Islands are encouraged to register for the ninth cohort of the TVET Apprenticeship Programme for Fall 2015 as registration ends Friday, September 4.

Teachers ofPhysical Education and Grades 2 and 3 met at a two day workshop to strategise and find effective ways to implement the ‘healthy lifestyle school intervention programme’ in schools across the Territory.
The public is advised of the changes in the schedule for the opening of school for the 2015-2016 academic school year. These changes are due to the interruption caused by the passage of Tropical Storm Erika with regard to the Leadership Training for Principals.
