Employees with scheduled appointments who are employed by employers listed on the approved register of Government businesses, will be allowed to collect their work permits when the Department of Labour and Workforce Development re-opens on Monday, May 4.

The Department of Labour and Workforce Development is reminding employers of Sections 53 and 54 of the British Virgin Islands Labour Code, in relation to payment to employees on public holidays.

Employers in the Territory are notified that essential employees who have been assigned to work during the upcoming holidays, Good Friday and Easter Monday, are to be paid in accordance with Sections 53 and 54 of the Labour Code.
