This service is available to existing taxi permit holders in the Virgin Islands who wish to renew their permits.
Both full-time and part-time taxi permit holders may indicate their respective status on the application form.

What You Need
Applicants must provide the following:
- Completed Renewal of Taxi Permit application form.
- Original valid Police Certificate indicating that the applicant has not been convicted of criminal activity within the last five (5) years.
- Three recent, identical passport-sized photographs.
- Certificate from the BVI Tourist Board.
- Valid Trade Licence.
- Certificate of Medical Fitness, including an eye examination, dated no more than six (6) months before the renewal date.
- Previous Taxi Permit.
- Payment of the $120.00 renewal fee.
Applicants should ensure that all required documents are available and valid before submitting their renewal application.

Step 1: Obtain the Application Form

Step 2: Complete the Application
Provide the following information:
- Full name of applicant.
- Existing taxi permit number.
- Physical address.
- Telephone number.
- Original date of issue of the permit.
- Employment status as a full-time or part-time taxi permit holder.
Sign and date the completed application form.
Step 3: Prepare Supporting Documents
Gather all supporting documents listed under the "What You Need" section.
Ensure that the medical fitness certificate, including the eye examination, meets the six-month validity requirement.
Step 4: Submit Your Application
Submit the completed application form and supporting documents to the Department of Motor Vehicles for review and processing.
Applications must be submitted at least thirty (30) days before the expiration of the existing taxi permit.
Step 5: Pay the Applicable Fee
Pay the required $120.00 taxi permit renewal fee.
Step 6: Application Review and Approval
The Department of Motor Vehicles will review the application and supporting documents to determine whether the renewal is approved.
Once approved, the renewed taxi permit is valid for three (3) years.
