Good afternoon to all. As you no doubt will have observed, the winds and rain from Tropical Storm Philippe’s passage have reduced significantly. 

Good day to everyone in the Virgin Islands. Since early this morning, I have been working closely with the Director of Disaster Management and his team in response to the effect of Tropical Storm Philippe, which we have all experienced. And of course I have also been in regular touch with the Acting Premier.

Se informa al público que el Centro Nacional de Operaciones de Emergencia está llevando a cabo evaluaciones de daños y operadores de equipo pesado están trabajando para despejar las carreteras que han sido bloqueadas por los efectos de la tormenta tropical Philippe.

The public is advised that the National Emergency Operations Centre is carrying out damage assessments and heavy equipment operators are working to clear those roads that have been blocked by the effects of Tropical Storm Philippe.

Se informa al público que las Islas Vírgenes han sido puestas bajo advertencia de inundación repentina. 

Se notifica al público que debido a los efectos continuos de la tormenta tropical Phillipe, todas las oficinas gubernamentales están cerradas hoy, 4 de octubre de 2023.

La tormenta tropical Philippe se está alejando gradualmente de nuestra zona.  Las lluvias continúan esta mañana y se espera que continúen durante todo el día a medida que Philippe se aleje de nuestra área. Anoche se registraron precipitaciones de 3 a 4 pulgadas en partes de las Islas Vírgenes.

Mr. Kurt Menal, Managing Director of the BVI Airports Authority is informing the travelling public of the closure of the Territory’s Airports due to the effects of Tropical Storm Phillipe, and the Virgin Islands being under a Flash Flood Warning.

Tropical Storm Philippe is now gradually moving away from our area. Rainfall continues this morning and is expected to do so throughout the day as Philippe moves away from our area. Rainfall amounts of 3-4 inches were recorded in parts of the Virgin Islands last night.

The public is notified that due to the continued effects of Tropical Storm Phillipe, all Government offices are closed today, October 4, 2023.
