Residents of Anegada are expected to benefit from road works underway on the Sister Island as Government continues its work of improving the road infrastructure of the Virgin Islands.

I am pleased to welcome you here today, as we sign a Loan Agreement between the Government of the Virgin Islands and the BVI Social Security Board, for $16 million, to facilitate the development of the road network infrastructure throughout the Territory.

Continued upgrades to the Territory’s road networks are underway following a signing ceremony held today, April 16,  between the Government of the Virgin Islands and the Social Security Board for a loan agreement of $16 million.

The Ministry of Communications and Works is informing the public that the road in East End from Fat Hog’s Bay in the vicinity of the Youth Empowerment Programme (Y.E.P) centre to the Police Station in Long Swamp is currently closed to the public. 

The road will reopen at 4:30 p.m. and closed 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 a.m. the following day (Thursday, April 16).

Motorists are asked to take alternative routes to access areas.

The Ministry apologises for any inconvenience that may be caused during this time.

The Ministry of Communications and Works is informing motorists and residents of Chalwell Estate that there will be a road closure tomorrow, April 15, in the proximity of the LIME tower junction headed towards Rudy’s Bar; adjacent  the R. Downing residence. 

The Ministry of Communications and Works is notifying the residents of Anegada that road rehabilitation works are expected to commence on April 14.

The Ministry of Communications and Works is informing the motoring public that road repairs resume on the James Walter Francis Drive tonight, April 13, at 7:00 p.m. to pave road gaps which have caused traffic build up during peak hours.
