East End Road To Be Completed By The Holidays

East End Road To Close In The Evenings Until December 15

The Ministry of Communications and Works is informing the public that the Blackburn Highway from Parham Town to the Queen Elizabeth Bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic nightly from Saturday, December 13 to Monday, December 15 between 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.

De Castro Street Closed To Facilitate Christmas Street Fair

The Ministry of Communications and Works is notifying the public that De Castro Street will be reopened on Sunday, December 7 at 8:00 a.m.

The purpose of the road closure is to facilitate the 16th Annual Celebration of Christmas on Main Street.  Motorists are asked to use alternate routes during this time.

The ministry apologises for any inconvenience caused.

Blackburn Highway East End To Be Partially Closed From December 6

The Ministry of Communications and Works is informing the public that the Blackburn Highway in East End from the Methodist Church at Chapel Hill to the Beef Island Bridge will be partially closed from Saturday, December 6 to vehicular traffic.  One lane will be opened to allow for traffic.

The purpose of this closure is to facilitate the rehabilitation of the road in that area.  Motorists should exercise extreme caution when traversing the area and are also encouraged to seek alternative routes.  Motorists should expect heavy traffic delays in the area. 

Public Works Department Heavy Equipment To Be On Public Display

The Ministry of Communications and Works is informing the public that the new heavy equipment purchased for the Public Works Department will be on display for the public to view at the Festival Grounds on Friday, December 5 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

There will be experts on site who will explain the functions and benefits of the equipment.  The equipment on display will include an Asphalt Distributor Trailer, an Asphalt Paver, a ten ton Roller, a Cold Milling Machine and two Skid Steer Loaders.

All are encouraged to come out and view the display.
