I rise today to provide an important update regarding aviation security compliance at the Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport (TBLIA), specifically relating to landside security measures.
The National Security Council (NSC) invited the Minister for Education, Youth Affairs and Sports Honourable Sharie de Castro and her team to its meeting on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, and received an update on the Minister’s recent visit to the United Kingdom, in particular discussions she held with authorities at the London Violence Reduction Unit and UK’s Department for Education on ways to address crime and violence among young people, and students in our Territory’s secondary schools.
The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF), Immigration Department and His Majesty’s Customs have new accommodations with the newly constructed Virgin Islands Law Enforcement Marine Base.
The National Security Council (NSC) convened a special meeting today to receive a briefing from the Commissioner of Police in light of Monday’s homicide of attorney Mr. Jamal Smith.
