The Government of the Virgin Islands through the Recovery and Development Agency (RDA) has signed a contract with Sunleaf Construction to repair the perimeter fence at the Anegada Recreation Ground.

Residents of Belle Vue can once again enjoy playing basketball on their community court. The Government of the Virgin Islands through the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth Affairs, Fisheries and Agriculture declared the basketball court open on May 14 with a reopening ceremony.

Mister Speaker, I take this opportunity to update this Honourable House on my Ministry’s support of sports development and to report on some of our athletes as they continue to promote the Territory through their outstanding performances.
Mr. Speaker, I am pleased to be able to provide an update on the work being done by the Recreation Trust to ensure the fullest and most beneficial use of all public recreation grounds and other recreational facilities throughout the Territory.

Fourteen teams are competing in the 2021 Industrial Bowling League being hosted by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports and teams have been preforming well.

Deputy Premier and Minister for Education, Culture, Youth Affairs, Fisheries and Agriculture, Dr. the Honourable Natalio D. Wheatley has said that the organisation of sports in the Territory is expected to be revolutionised with the introduction of the Virgin Islands National Sports Council Bill to the House of Assembly.
