I extend New Year’s greetings to everyone in the Virgin Islands and throughout the World.
Since my last status report on the COVID-19 situation delivered from the House of Assembly on Thursday, 31st December, there have been some developments which need to be brought to your attention as I’ve pledged to keep you fully informed.
The public is advised of the Imposition of Curfew (No. 41) Order, 2020 which came into effect on December 31, 2020. The imposed curfew is between the hours of 2:01 a.m. to 4:59 a.m. daily until January 14.

The Ministry of Health and Social Development has confirmed that someone who attended the club Coco-Maya, in Spanish Town, Virgin Gorda from approximately 10:00 p.m. until 12:00 midnight on Old Year’s night has tested positive for COVID-19.

The Ministry of Health and Social Development is advising persons who attended or came into contact with persons who attended Old Year’s and New Year’s festivities to monitor themselves for approximately 14 days for symptoms of corona virus.
The Cabinet Office is notifying the public that Statutory Instruments No. 148 Imposition of a Curfew (No. 41) Order, 2020 and No.149 Public Health (Covid-19 Control and Suppression Measures) (No. 9) (Amendment) (No. 3) Order, 2020 are now available on the Virgin Islands Official Gazette website at https://eservices.gov.vg/gazette/.
